The head of the tax Committee of Tajikistan Nusratullo Davlatzoda has proposed to levy tax on foreign companies that provide e-services, according to Sputnik Tajikistan.

The head of Department considers that the taxes with services such as Google, Apple, Microsoft, Facebook, eBay, Aliexpress, Yahoo and others, may significantly replenish the budget.

«We need to amend the tax law, providing for the payment of VAT to foreign companies that provide services in electronic form to individuals,» — said in a letter addressed to the President of the country Emomali Rahmon.

Dawlatzai cited as an example where «Google and another 100 international companies pay taxes».

According to him, «taxes are Google, Apple, Microsoft, Facebook, eBay, Aliexpress, Yahoo, Bing and other for the three months of this year, joined the Russian budget 2 billion rubles.»

«In Tajikistan the electronic scope is not controlled. People buy tickets, games, books, book hotels, and make a profit to foreign companies, however, due to the imperfections of our legislation, they cannot be taxed,» — said Dawlatzai.

The letter also States that at the moment fell taxes on international voice-calls over NGN, and also because people use instant messengers such as Wechat, Viber, OK, VK.

Earlier it became known that the tax for users of highways in Tajikistan, which the government promised to abolish, will not be cancelled until the end of 2020. At the meeting of the Majlis (lower house of Parliament) it was noted that this was done in order to find additional sources of income and budget support in the context of the global financial crisis.
