The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko said that more than 15 citizens of Russia, are in Ukrainian prisons, needs to be exchanged for Director Oleg Sentsov and other Ukrainian citizens convicted in Russia.

«Will be accompanied by more effort to pull our citizens from Russian prisons, from the Crimea… and for that, we today have not given any Russians. 15 more citizens of Russia who are in our prisons, should be directed to return home Sushchenko, Sentsov, Kolchenko, Cliche, Karpyuk and many other», — said Poroshenko in an interview to the Ukrainian edition «Strenia».

Ukrainian Director Oleg Sentsov was prigovoren Russia to 20 years in prison on charges of organizing terrorist acts in the Crimea. This sentence to 10 years imprisonment, was also convicted an accomplice of Sentsov, Alexander Kolchenko. Two more defendants in the case, Alexey Chirny and Gennady Afanasiev previously received seven years of imprisonment.

The Supreme court of Chechnya in may 2016 sentenced the citizens of Ukraine, members of the nationalist organization «Ukrainian national Assembly — Ukrainian national self defense» (UNA-UNSO*) Nicholas Karpuk and Stanislaus Cliche to 22.5 and 20 years in a strict regime colony. Later, the Ministry of justice of Ukraine stated that it had asked the Russian results Karpyuk.

Wednesday was the first exchange of prisoners between Ukraine on the one hand and the LC and the DNI, on the other. Lugansk gave Kiev 16 people in exchange for 73 (two refused to return). Donetsk freed 58 people in exchange for 165. Thus, the LC and the DNR passed all prisoners 74. Kiev gave 238 people, although it was initially reported 306.
