In 2017 the world was discovered only 6.7 billion barrels of oil, which represents the lowest figure for more than 70 years, reported the independent Norwegian consulting company Rystad Energy.

«We have not seen anything like this since the 1940-ies. Discovered volumes averaged about 550 million barrels of oil equivalent per month» — are in the release words of senior analyst at Rystad Energy Sony passos (Passos, Sonia).

According to experts, the most troubling to potential consumers is the fact that it has found deposits of oil and gas is only 11% of the coated amount produced this year raw materials, compared to more than 50% in 2012. And in recent times the volume of oil and gas extracted was equal to the volume of newly found deposits in 2006.

The company also announced that the average volume of stocks at the open this year offshore fields amounted to approximately 100 million barrels of oil equivalent per month, compared to 150 million barrels in 2012.
