Turkish police during anti-terrorist operations in Ankara detained 29 people suspected of involvement in terrorist group «Islamic state»*, some of them were preparing terrorist attacks during the Christmas events, according to the Anadolu news Agency on Friday, citing a source in law enforcement bodies.

It is noted that the operation involved about 500 police officers. Many of the detainees are foreign nationals. Only the Prosecutor’s office issued warrants for the arrest of 46 people.

On the eve in the different provinces of Turkey were detained 120 suspected links with IG* in the framework of strengthening security measures on the eve of the New year.

After the outbreak of armed conflict involving ISIS* in Syria and Iraq, Turkish police detained more than five thousand suspects in connection with the activities of this terrorist group. Was deported 3.29 thousand people from 95 countries, with around 38 thousand people denied entry into Turkey. In custody are 780 people, including 350 foreigners, some of them convicted on terrorism charges.
