Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Medvedev signed a decree on the allocation of 31,6 billion rubles to separate categories of citizens in different regions for medicines and specialized products of medical nutrition, the relevant document published on the website of the Cabinet on Friday.

«Approved allocation in 2018 of subsidies in the volume of 31,651 billion rubles for financing of separate categories of citizens the provision of social services to provide medicines for medical application according to prescriptions on medicinal preparations, medical products according to prescriptions on medical products, and also specialized products of medical nutrition,» the document reads.

In mid-December, Russian President Vladimir Putin at the annual press conference, said about the need to increase health financing in 2018, the total spending on health care will amount to 4.1% of GDP, he said.

According to the head of the state, special attention should be focused on preserving and creating new forms of medical care in small health centres. «There is need to create a new, modern, revive, lost, and create a new first. The second, on human settlements, where at least 100 people, it is necessary to create and use mobile units of medical assistance», — he stressed.

«And there are things screaming — help for more people with serious illnesses, purchase more drugs,» said the President.
