The Ministry of labor has rejected in full the requests from employers of Primorye to attract more than nine thousand citizens of the DPRK, told RIA Novosti in the press service of the regional administration.

Earlier, the UN Security Council unanimously imposed new sanctions against the DPRK, which will significantly limit the export and import capabilities of Pyongyang. Resolution 2375 set the most stringent UN sanctions regime in the twenty-first century. One of the paragraphs of the resolution limiting the issuance of work permits to citizens of the DPRK. In October, President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on measures to implement this resolution.

The state Department said earlier that the United States is hoping to reduce Russia’s recruitment of North Korean workers. The Japanese foreign Ministry, in turn, urged Moscow not to issue a permit to work 25 thousand citizens of the DPRK.

«The administration of Primorsky Krai according to the results of consideration of demands of employers in 2018, it was agreed the involvement of more than nine thousand foreign citizens from North Korea, including work in construction, agriculture, ship repair, industry, hotel service, fisheries and forestry. However, the quota in full was rejected by the Ministry of labour of Russia», — said the press service.

Earlier it was reported that the government of Ugra has applied to the Ministry of labor to obtain quotas for citizens of the DPRK, but all 156 applications were rejected.
