Canada has tightened sanctions against the DPRK, according to the website of the canadian Ministry of foreign Affairs.

The sanctions regime was brought in line with the provisions of resolution 2397, adopted by the UN security Council on December 22. In particular, a ban on the supply and transfer of North Korean transport vessels, aircraft and spare parts and industrial equipment. In addition, prohibited the purchase and the DPRK food, agricultural products, machinery, electrical equipment and equipment for working with minerals.

The UN security Council on December 22 unanimously adopted the resolution on toughening sanctions against North Korea in response to country November 29, the test of a ballistic missile. The document introduces new restrictions on the supply of crude oil and refined petroleum products, and requires all countries to expel North Korean migrants in a period of 24 months. The resolution provides for other restrictions on the import into the DPRK of industrial equipment, heavy equipment and vehicles and procurement of major North Korean export goods.
