Moscow has reiterated the principled position of Russia on the illegality of Israel’s settlement activity in the Palestinian territories, including East Jerusalem, and believe that it will not create the conditions for establishing direct talks, said the foreign Ministry.

«Moscow has reiterated the principled position of Russia on the illegality of Israel’s settlement activity in the Palestinian territories, including East Jerusalem. We believe that such line of Israel is not conducive to the creation of conditions for establishment of direct negotiations between Israelis and Palestinians, which needs to be solved on all issues of final status,» — said the Russian foreign Ministry on its official website.

The foreign Ministry noted that «continued Israeli settlement activity undermines the prospects for a two-state solution to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, reducing the chances of achieving a just and lasting peace in the middle East».
