Russia’s Ambassador to the U.S. Anatoly Antonov said that raised during a meeting in Washington with U.S. Ambassador to Russia John Huntsman the question of the resumption of contacts between Moscow and Washington at various levels, including in the format of «2+2» between the defense Ministers and foreign Ministers, as well as the topic of establishing a joint group on cybersecurity.

The meeting Antonov, and the Huntsman took place on Thursday in Washington. As reported in the state Department, the us Ambassador was in the capital in conjunction with the regular consultations.

«I raised Hunstman the question of the resumption of contacts between our countries at various levels, including to meet the Ministers of defense, and in the format of «2+2″ (the head of the foreign and defense Ministers — ed.). We proposed to create a group on cyber security, offered to restore contacts between parliamentarians is very important,» the Ambassador told Russian journalists.

Last meeting in the format of «2+2» was held in 2013 in Washington.

Russian President Vladimir Putin and U.S. President Donald trump held its first meeting on 7 July on the sidelines of the G20 summit in Hamburg. The President of the Russian Federation on a press-conference on results of his participation in the summit said that Russia and the United States should not be situations of uncertainty in cybersecurity, and the working group on this issue, which will be created by two countries, will eliminate in the future any speculation.
