Ex-Director of Moscow state academic Chamber musical theatre named after B. A. Pokrovsky Ara Karapetyan was appointed General Director of the Novosibirsk academic theatre of Opera and ballet, said the Minister of culture Vladimir Medinsky on Monday at a meeting with collective of the theatre.

In early December of 2017, it became known that Kekhman left from a post of the General Director of the Novosibirsk theatre of Opera and ballet. Acting CEO was appointed by Snezhana Lubar, which signed an order appointing Kekhman’s artistic Director.

Kekhman was CEO of theatre from March 2015. The Minister of culture of the Russian Federation then told reporters that Lubar is on probation in the post of acting Director until June 2018.

The Minister of culture noted that during the work of the previous management of the Novosibirsk theatre has achieved outstanding success. The volume of tickets sold and services rendered in 2017 amounted to almost 300 million rubles, which is 75% more than it was «a couple of years ago.» «It says that your skill is in demand. I am very grateful to Vladimir Abramovich Kekhman and Snezhana Borisovna Lubar. You big fellows,» said he.

Medinsky also said that Karapetyan about 20 years worked at the Moscow academic Musical theatre of a name of Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko, where he was a long way from the conductor to the head of the theatre, and in recent months has become a successful crisis Manager in the Moscow theatre named after B. A. Pokrovsky.

Ara Karapetyan was born in 1969 in Yerevan. In 1992, he worked as a conductor of Musical theatre of Saint-Petersburg Conservatory. In 1992-1997 — conductor of the Perm academic Opera and ballet theatre. Since 1997 conductor of the Moscow academic Musical theatre of a name of Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko. From 2005 to 2013 he was managing Director of the theatre, and from 2013 to 2016 he held the position of CEO. From September 2016 to may 2017 — Vice-President and artistic Director of the Bolshoi theatre of Harbin (China) and the Grand theatre Tianjin (China).
