The Communist party and «Fair Russia» (SR) can be combined under the command of the Communists to the next parliamentary elections to strengthen their positions in the Duma and in the regions, told RIA Novosti Director of the Center for political information Alexei Mukhin on Tuesday.

Earlier, the Chairman of the SR Sergey Mironov told reporters that for a long time nurtured the idea of unification with the Communist party, and called the Communists a historical perspective of the closest allies of the socialist-revolutionaries. Before in mass media there was information that after the presidential elections in March, perhaps the Union LDPR and SR. Mironov denied this information, saying that the liberal democratic party has no ideology, only a bright leader

«Theoretically everything is possible, but most likely it will happen ahead of the next parliamentary elections to reinforce and strengthen the faction in the next State Duma,» — said Mukhin, responding to a question about whether the merger of the two parliamentary parties.

He explained that at this stage the Communist party is unlikely to agree to this Alliance for two reasons. The first reason, according to the analyst, are the upcoming presidential election. The second reason is a rift in the ranks of the Communist party, the expert said.

«Perhaps Sergei Mironov predicts several events because it is obvious that Gennady Zyuganov (Chairman of the Communist party) a very big problem within the party in connection with the nomination of Pavel Grudinina. Not all parties support this extension, and it is likely to split. In the case of this split, really, there is a possibility of Association with «Fair Russia» with the aim of maintaining the regional grid and store large political structure,» said Mukhin.

He added that in the event of a merger of the two parties, the leadership will reserve the Communists. The political scientist is sure that the Communist party is not interested to join on an equal footing and will perceive CP as a Junior partner.
