Bank of China strengthened the yuan to the dollar to its highest level in two years

The people’s Bank of China (Central Bank) on Wednesday strengthened the yuan to the dollar to a peak in the last two years, according to the regulator.

On Wednesday the Chinese Central Bank set the average exchange rate of the yuan to the dollar at the level of 6,4335. That’s 37 points, or 0.06 percent less fixing Tuesday, when the course was 6,4372, which was the highest since 10 December 2015. The people’s Bank of China strengthens its currency fifth consecutive trading session.

In mid-September last year, the Central Bank has strengthened to the maximum rate of its currency in may 2016, placing it below the psychological level of 6.5 per dollar — 6,4997.
