The former Deputy head of the city administration Langepas, Khanty-Mansi Autonomous district Andrey Miniahmetov escaped imprisonment in the case of receiving a bribe of 1 million rubles, reported the press service of the city court.

Earlier the Investigative Committee said that in the summer of 2016 Miniahmetov extorted from the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the local commercial organization «for General patronage» as a bribe of 1.5 million rubles and received his 1 million. The official about six months hiding from the investigation. Later, he was arrested. The former official was charged with receiving a bribe in a large amount, he was arrested.

«The court found him guilty … and sentenced to a fine in the amount of 3 million rubles with the appointment of additional punishment in the form of deprivation of right to hold positions in municipal service for a period of two years», — stated in the message of the court.

According to the press service, given that the former official detention as the main form of punishment sentenced to a fine in accordance with the criminal code it is reduced to 2.5 million rubles with the preservation of deprivation of the right to hold positions in municipal service for a specified period of time.

«The convict is released from-under guards in a court hall», — said the press service.

The court also clarified that at the stage of preliminary investigation, former Vice-mayor was accused of abuse of power, but in the course of the trial the accusation was not confirmed.
