The final meeting of the organizational Committee on preparation and holding of events dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Russian revolution of 1917, will be held on Wednesday in Moscow, reported the press service of the Russian historical society (RIO).

The meeting will summarize the implementation of the basic plan of events dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the revolution. The plan included 118 scientific conferences, exhibitions, round tables and information projects proposed by various governmental and public organizations of science, culture and education.

It is planned that the event will be attended by the Chairman of the RIO, the Director of the foreign intelligence Service of the Russian Federation Sergey Naryshkin, the head of the organizing Committee, rector of MGIMO Anatoly Torkunov, Director of the Institute of Russian history, Yuri Petrov, co-chair of RIO, scientific Director of the Institute of world history Alexander Chubaryan, head of the office of the President of the Russian Federation on public projects Sergey Novikov and others.

In 2017, celebrated 100 years of revolution in Russia. In the February-March days of 1917, the autocracy fell, and power was in the hands of the Provisional government, and on 25 October 1917 it was overthrown by the Bolsheviks in Petrograd.
