Rospotrebnadzor warned about the outbreak of SARS in Finland, where since the beginning of the year there have been over 500 cases reported on the Agency’s website on Wednesday.

«According to the National Institute of health and welfare of Finland (THL), dated 12 January of this year, the medical services of the country are sounding the alarm regarding the growing outbreak of infections caused by respiratory syncytial virus human (HRSV). Only in the first week of January 2018 there were more than 500 cases», — stated in the message.

It is emphasized that, according to the children’s hospital of Helsinki, where the disease is hospitalized, 15 children under the age of 12 months, «the outbreak is mainly in Helsinki».

«However, medical institutions across the country reported an increase in infections caused by HRSV,» — said the CPS.

The Ministry said that, according to statistics from THL, a seasonal increase in the incidence of HRSV in Finland is observed annually. However, in the CPS, stressed that in recent years increases its intensity.
