The new Museum-panorama «Breakthrough» will be opened on the 75th anniversary of breaking the siege of Leningrad in Leningrad region, the press service of the regional government.

Three-dimensional installation

Technical opening of the new pavilion will be held on Thursday, January 18, at the 75th anniversary of breaking the siege of Leningrad. From 27 January the exhibition will be open to visitors.

The construction of the pavilion for the new Museum began in September 2015 near the building of diorama «the Breakthrough of the blockade of Leningrad» built in 1985. All work was carried out at the expense of the regional budget.

In the exhibition pavilion turned three-dimensional art-historical panorama of the «Breakthrough» accompanied by video installations. The exposition of the panorama Museum consists of two halls. In the first, multimedia, the visitor meets a video chronicle of five attempts to break the blockade by Soviet troops, and animated film about the tragic days of the siege.

In the second hall on an area of 500 square meters is deployed picture of the dramatic events of the second day of the operation to break the blockade of Leningrad «spark», which tells about the occurrence of the 67th army of the Leningrad front on Nevsky patch near the village of Arbuzovo.

The creators of the exhibition – ANO «Nevsky battle scenes,» headed by Dmitry Poshtarenko, devoted to images of men. In recreating the scene of battle represented more than 30 figures involved in the events. In the design of the panorama is widely used equipment, ammunition, weapons, personal items and other materials discovered by search parties in the «Memory Watch» in the Leningrad region.

Exhibitions and candles

The eighteenth of January, at 17 o’clock at the memorial sign «the siege» on the Fontanka embankment, 21 in St. Petersburg will host the Patriotic action «Candle of memory» dedicated to the 75-th anniversary of breaking the siege of Leningrad. It will be attended by veterans of the great Patriotic war, inhabitants of blockade Leningrad, children adolescents and youth club «Perspective», the cadets of the military engineering-technical University.

In memory of the victims of the siege here will have candles lit. The events of January 1943 will bring the memories of veterans, the music of Shostakovich and poems of the war years.

A memorial sign was installed in 2001 on the descent to the river Fontanka, opposite to the house 21. The inscription on the slab of gray granite reads: «Here from the ice hole took water to the residents of besieged Leningrad».

On the same day at the Military historical Museum of artillery, engineer and signal corps will open the exhibition «Operation «spark». On the 75th anniversary of the breakthrough of the blockade of Leningrad». Most of the exhibits are photos taken from the Museum where you can see the main stages of the operation to liberate Leningrad.

Rare footage demonstrating the shelling of the German positions by the destroyer «Experienced» in January 1943, the streets of liberated Shlisselburg, a meeting of soldiers of the Leningrad and Volkhov fronts from workers settlement No. 1, a meeting of representatives of the troops of the Leningrad and Volkhov fronts, dedicated to breaking the blockade of Leningrad, the first train arrived to besieged Leningrad along the road of Polyani – Shlisselburg in early February 1943. The exhibition is complemented by samples of weapons, which fought the defenders of Leningrad.
