The Bank of Russia is preparing for the «agile transformation», said the Director of the Department of monetary policy of the Central Bank Igor Dmitriev on the sidelines of the Gaidar forum.

Many employees of the Department, he said, hung in their offices planning boards tasks. «7,5 m task Board. We are moving to this agile transformation in the work of the Department,» — said Dmitriev.

According to the «agile approach» (application of agile principles of project work) is planned to proceed in other departments of the Central Bank. «This was my initiative, but our advice is not only in my unit. Here we had the same demand from my side and offer with other scrum teams in many divisions are organized», — he said.

Such changes, according to him, cause resistance to some of the staff not because it’s bad but because it’s different, he said. «You always worked from left to right, now you work right to left, and a restructuring of the head, brain, priorities,» he said. «This, of course, difficult. Restructuring economic units, regional too. Change is difficult,» he added.

This approach has already been implemented, in particular, in Sberbank. The creation of innovative products is impossible under the old procedures, and the Bank found the answer to this question in the transition to the agile principles, which means a flexible methodology in the management of the company, in 2016, reported its head German Gref. Format agile many projects that Sberbank had previously done over the years, it is possible to implement much faster, he said.
