Science funding in 2018 will rise, said Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev.

«Last year we increased the funding of civil science by 20% compared with the year 2016, which in itself is not bad. It’s still one-fifth part. This year the increase will be even greater. This amount is measured in the hundreds of billions of rubles,» — said Medvedev at the ceremony of awarding state prize in science and technology.

The head of government assured that the course to support scientists will continue.

«We look forward, there will be extra money, the economy will grow, in some way we change the priorities. The money will be more, and this course, we will continue jointly with the Russian Academy of Sciences, the scientific community, with the high – tech industry will develop in all these areas, the implementation of our strategic plans and programs,» — said Medvedev.
