Russian Prosecutor General’s office found no grounds for action in connection with the leak of ruthenium-106 in the Urals: the activity of the isotope was 100 or more times lower than the acceptable level, as described in the response to the request Department of Greenpeace Russia at the disposal of RIA Novosti.

«The reason for the response by the General Prosecutor of the Russian Federation does not currently have,» reads the letter signed by the acting head of the Department for supervision over execution of laws on industrial and road safety of the state office of public Prosecutor Nikolay Firsov.

As specified in the letter, at the end of September – beginning of October activity of ruthenium-106 in the air of the Chelyabinsk region and South Ural was from 100 to 10 thousand times lower than the acceptable level.
