The Russian foreign Ministry through diplomatic channels demanded that the Polish authorities clarification regarding the closure of entry to the territory of member countries of the Schengen zone of the Russian political scientist, journalist, Director of the Foundation of progressive politics, Oleg Bondarenko, told RIA Novosti in the Department of information and press of the foreign Ministry.

Earlier it was reported that Bondarenko had arrived on January 14 in Berlin to participate in the event organized by a faction of the Left party in the Bundestag. The evening of the same day, was deported to Moscow. The reason for this was the request of Poland on 17 November 2017 to close the entrance to the analyst on the territory of member countries of the Schengen zone.

According to the foreign Ministry of the Russian Federation, as the reason of the ban called by some a «threat to national security.»

«Based on available data differently than an attempt for political reasons to restrict the freedom of speech of the representative of Russian civil society in the countries-EU members – in violation of working in the area of democratic principles, to explain the behavior of the Polish side we can’t. Through diplomatic channels demanded from the Polish authorities further clarification,» — said the Russian foreign Ministry.
