In Yekaterinburg two businessmen for attempting to sell the emerald worth 3 million rubles sentenced to terms ranging from 2 to 2.5 years of imprisonment, told reporters on Friday the official representative of the Russian Ministry of internal Affairs of Irina Volk.

According to the law, in Russia to buy and sell such valuable minerals is possible only by special license.

As the investigation revealed, one of the dealers bought natural crystal have «third parties» (who, exactly, is not specified), and the second acted as an intermediary in a future sale. In the end, both detained in one of cafe of Yekaterinburg when trying to sell a mineral.

According to the study, seized the precious stone, crystal of beryl, is a natural emerald. Its estimated value is almost 3 million rubles. How many tried to sell the emerald convicted, is not specified.

«Today the verdict of the Kirov district of Yekaterinburg accused sentenced to 2.5 and 2 years imprisonment respectively in a penal colony,» concluded Wolf.
