The armed forces of Ukraine are ready to cooperate fruitfully with the International Committee of the red cross (ICRC) to address key humanitarian issues on the line of contact in Donbas, including the establishment of security zones around critical infrastructure, according to the website of the Ministry of defense of Ukraine on Saturday.

According to the Agency, this was stated by the chief of the General staff of Ukraine Viktor Muzhenko during a meeting with the head of the delegation of the International Committee of the red cross in Ukraine Alan Eshliman.

«We appreciate the constructive cooperation which develops between the armed forces of Ukraine and representatives of the red cross. Ready to work together in addressing important issues such as the establishment of security zones around critical infrastructure, as well as ensuring movement through the line of collision, in particular via PPC «gold» and across the bridge near the village of Lugansk,» — said Muzhenko.

At the talks in Minsk on 19 July 2017, the parties reached an agreement on the creation of security zones along the contact line. It was agreed that a security zone be created around two objects: the first pumping station in Vasylivka, Donetsk and filtered stations.
