The money belonging to the entourage of the former President of Ukraine, Viktor Yanukovych, should be effectively used by Ukraine, said the Minister of Finance of Ukraine Alexander danyluk.

Prosecutor General Yury Lutsenko declared that the government of Ukraine on the decision of the court confiscated $ 200 million that belong to Yanukovych and his entourage. According to him, in 2018, the Prosecutor General’s office plans to confiscate another $ 180 million of funds from the former President and his entourage. In particular, Lutsenko said that the police are going in the first half of 2018 to carry out specefically to the state budget of Ukraine about $ 105 million, belonging to Yanukovych’s entourage.

Earlier the Secretary of Council of national security and defense of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchynov announced the entry into force of the decision of the Ukrainian court dealing with the confiscation of $ 1.5 billion arrested in accounts of companies controlled by Yanukovych’s entourage. According to him, the Ukrainian Oschadbank, the accounts of which were arrested funds, started the implementation of this judgment.

After a coup in Ukraine in February 2014, the new authorities want to prosecute Yanukovych and many former bureaucrats. In relation to the former Ukrainian authorities are being investigated criminal cases, in particular, about the theft of public funds, financial frauds, land-grabbing and abuse of office. Many former leaders of the country because of the threat of political persecution were forced to go abroad.
