The building of the Marine corps Peter the Great naval Academy named after Admiral of the fleet N. G. Kuznetsova burns in St. Petersburg, reported on the website of the regional emergencies Ministry.

The first fire unit arrived at 00.50, after five minutes, the fire awarded the third category of complexity.

In extinguishing the fire involved 22 vehicles and 110 personnel.

Later, the defense Ministry reported that the fire Academy is localized, there were no injuries. Command of educational institutions together with law enforcement agencies to investigate the cause of the incident.

Naval Academy — the oldest higher education institution St. Petersburg, originating from the Navigation school, founded by decree of Tsar Peter I in 1701.

In its current form was established in 1998 after the merger of the Higher naval school imeni M. V. Frunze Higher naval school of diving Lenin Komsomol. The current name since 2001.
