Kosovo Albanian police on Friday disarmed a group of Albanians, seizing guns and edged weapons in the village Livadia in Kosovo, said Pristina information portal koha.net citing local law enforcement.

It is reported that the group of six Albanians who were in one of the local cafes, seized two pistols, ammunition, two metal batons and two knives. After interrogation the detainees were released, the case against them was initiated under the normal procedure.

In connection with the visit of the Serbian leader in Kosovo, local law enforcement agencies have taken special security measures.

The Albanian authorities of Kosovo with support of USA and the leading EU countries declared independence from Serbia in 2008. Belgrade does not recognize Kosovo’s sovereignty, but also has on its southern autonomy control, which was lost in 1999 after the NATO bombing.
