Lawyers Kirill Serebrennikov, who is accused of fraud, appealed against the extension of house arrest of the Director, the press Secretary of the Basmanny court Juno Tsarev.

«A complaint against the decision of the court was filed by the lawyers Kharitonov and Litvinov,» — said Tsarev.

The court has not yet set the date and time of the complaint.

Earlier, the court extended the house arrest of the Director and other defendants in the case, «the Seventh Studio» for four months.

The investigation

In may in «Gogol-center» and home of its artistic Director Serebrennikov were searched because of suspicions of embezzling funds from the organization he founded, «the Seventh Studio».

According to the investigation, the Ministry of culture listed the «Seventh Studio» tens of millions of rubles for shows and tours, which they stole by using false documents — in particular, about the organization of the play «a Midsummer night’s Dream».

Investigators were sent to jail the former accountant Nina Masleeva, which only gave evidence against the other defendants. The rest not guilty. Five months later Maslyaeva was placed under house arrest.

Custody also remains a former head of the «Gogol-center» Beloborodko, and under house arrest – the General Director «the Seventh Studio» Yuri Itin and Director of Ramtha Sophia Apfelbaum.

The investigation into the «Seventh Studio» is finished. The amount of damage increased in two times – up to 133 million rubles.

Serebrennikov faces up to ten years imprisonment and a fine of one million rubles or more.
