Lock and Transformable modules can be part of the Russian orbital station, which will be set after the completion of the ISS in 2024, told reporters on Tuesday, General designer for manned space systems and complexes of Russia Evgeny Mikrin.

«To the newly developed modules include the Gateway modules and Transformable. Now RSC «Energia» started the design of transformable modules, experimentally worked out the structure of the envelope,» he said at the «Royal readings» in Moscow.

The base station will have to be multi-purpose laboratory module (MLM) «Nauka», Scientific and energy module (NEM) and the node module Prichal. They plan to send into orbit and to enter into the Russian segment of the ISS until the end of 2019. After the termination of the ISS on their basis it will be possible to create a Russian space station. However, in order to meet the deadline, initially planned to send MLM in 2017 (now its launch is planned before the end of 2018).

Now RSC Energia created the experimental sample of the transformed module has a volume of 100 cubic meters. The gateway module will be used for the outputs of the crew in open space.

Previously, micron said that the station can consist of five modules, weighing about 60 tons and carry a crew of three. For delivery of cargoes and transportation of astronauts to be used are now flying ships «Soyuz» and «Progress» and develop gruzootpravitelej ship that will deliver more payload in comparison with «Progress».
