The Council of Ministers of economy and Finance of the countries of the European Union (ECOFIN) meeting on Tuesday is expected, will be almost half — eight countries of the so-called «black list» of tax havens, according to materials for the meeting of the Council.

This list, called the list of non-cooperating with the EU jurisdictions in tax matters, was first adopted in the EU at the end of December last year. It includes 17 States.

As previously reported, the EU source familiar with the issue from the list leaving Barbados, Grenada, South Korea, Macau, Mongolia, Panama, Tunisia and the UAE.

Thus, the list will remain nine jurisdictions, including Bahrain, Namibia, the Marshall Islands, Trinidad and Tobago.

Eight countries will be excluded from the «black list» because of proposals to adjust their tax regimes made by them after the adoption by the European Union this list of countries.

These countries from the «black list» go into the so-called «grey list», where there are a number of other jurisdictions. From the last list they can be bred after the implementation of the proposals to adjust their tax regimes, reported the source.
