The number of fires in the Russian capital in 2011 decreased by 7.6%, this was due to preventive and technical measures, said Deputy mayor Pyotr Biryukov on Tuesday at the podium at city hall.

He said that the authorities pay special attention to equipment of fire-rescue units of the main types of fire-technical equipment, now they are 100% equipped.

«As a result of increased responsiveness of leaving the scene of the fire. Thanks to the preventive and technical measures, the number of fires decreased by 7.6% since 2011. The number of violations on the water bodies of Moscow has decreased by 4.24%,» — said Biryukov.

According to estimates of the Ministry of emergency situations in Moscow today the waters are the safest in the country, concluded the Deputy mayor.
