The exhibition, which for the first time will acquaint the Moscow public with eight works by Russian artist Karl Briullov, opens at the Tretyakov gallery, the press service of the Museum.

«A show of paintings next to classical paintings in the halls of the Tretyakov gallery complements the idea of the artistic heritage Briullov, and gives the viewer a rare opportunity to get acquainted with such important works known only to specialists. These exhibitions introduced into the General cultural context of the painting, hidden from the eyes of the public, fasten the links of the whole chain of the history of Russian art», — stated in the message.

The article notes that the portraits from the private collection of St. Petersburg represented in the halls of the Tretyakov gallery, full Briullov in different periods of creativity. They demonstrate a kind of typological structure of the portrait image: ceremonial and intimate image, group family portrait, equestrian «portrait walk», self-portraits.

«Bryullov-portrait came primarily from features of the model. For the main painter was a man with his own unique traits and special attitude. Found the composition of each portrait, his color palette has always sounded in unison with the inner world depicted people», — emphasized in the Museum.
