The Minister of culture Vladimir Medinsky made the decision to waive his fees for a production at the Maly theatre of the play in his novel «the Wall» and send it to charity, reports the press service of the Ministry of culture, citing the words of the Minister.

As reported by the Director of the Maly theatre, people’s artist of the USSR Yuri Solomin, theater offered three dramatizations of the novel Medina «the Wall».

«I gave the theatre his novel and play, and know that Small is always very delicately and carefully relate to the author’s text. Despite the fact that the legislation does not oblige to this, decided to waive his fees, as the theatre is subordinate to the Ministry of culture. Although I stress, the law allows you to engage in creative activities. But I am very sensitive to such things, and therefore the fee is directed to charity», — said Medina.

According to him, the statement is entirely the initiative of the theatre, but he was honored that his novel will form the basis of the formulation within the walls of one of the oldest and most respected theatres in Russia.

«Unfortunately, the work schedule does not allow me to attend rehearsals, but will try to visit the General run of the play, and perhaps the Prime Minister» — the Minister said.

As the press service notes, the novel «the Wall» was created in 2010-2011. The book went on sale in 2012 and sold nearly 100 thousand copies.
