Automation and robotics processes in the field of Economics and management can have dangerous consequences — not only mass unemployment and social upheaval in the world, but «comprehensive dehumanization of social relations», said on Thursday the Patriarch of Moscow and all Russia Kirill during his speech at the Federation Council.

«The development of new technologies leads to a situation where tasks in the field of Economics and management are implemented by the machines on pre-determined algorithms. This Herald such social change, the consequences of which deserve careful assessment,» — said the Patriarch.

He acknowledged that the robotic automation of a huge number of production and business processes, and management mechanisms have become a reality of our time.

«Machines and software can replace humans in many areas, being cheaper, faster and more reliable… Reducing the number of jobs in connection with automation can lead to serious social upheaval if the solution is not found. Side consequence of the development of new technologies – a comprehensive dehumanization of social relations,» — said the Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church.

According to him, the relations in the field of public administration has always been the relationships between people, and can become a relationship of man and machine.

«The case, ultimately, not only for unemployment, but in the elimination of human relations where they always existed. How to fill this gap, how to overcome the separation of people is the issue of growing urgency,» — declared the Patriarch.
