Hollywood celebrities led by actor mark Ruffalo to boycott the annual US President’s speech before Congress on January 30 and participate in the side event against Donald trump, according to People magazine.

According to the publication, on 30 January, U.S. President Donald trump will deliver the traditional speech «state of the Union» (State of the Union) to Congress. A group of Hollywood stars headed Ruffalo plans to hold an alternative event, «people’s statement on the situation of the country» (People»s State of the Union) the day before.

«This is a more appropriate reflection of the situation in the country, based on a more populist point of view and the point of view of the people. I think this is important, because our President has difficulty with the truth, has very radical and controversial course and spends a huge amount of time on the negative, hopelessness and despair,» — the edition of the words of Ruffalo.

The actor added that the event will bring together different movements, from environmental organizations to the movements for women’s rights and sexual minorities.

According to the magazine, the event will also be attended by U.S. actress Whoopi Goldberg, Zoe Kravitz, Cynthia Nixon, Rosie Perez and documentary filmmaker Michael Moore.

At the end of January 2017 celebrities participated in the rally in new York against the President of the United States Donald trump the day before his inauguration. The protest was attended by mayor bill De Blasio, Hollywood actors Robert De Niro, mark Ruffalo and Alec Baldwin, Director Michael Moore and cher. The action, which gathered several thousand participants, took place at the corner of Central Park and fashionable Fifth Avenue — in front of the tower hotel, which bears the name of President of the United States, and near the residence of the family trump at the Trump Tower.
