«The UN decided that day, when the Red army liberated Auschwitz, should become an international day of remembrance of the Holocaust. This decision recognizes the importance of remembering the Holocaust to tell about it to future generations… But one memory is not enough» — said the head of the Jewish state at a ceremony in the memorial complex «Yad Vashem» in Jerusalem.

«In recent years we are witnessing the spread of anti-Semitic, racist and neo-Nazi ideas. We see many manifestations of anti-Semitic violence around the world. Group, in the past marginal to the main political systems that now claim to recognition. In this atmosphere, Jews feel less secure in their own countries, some even have to hide their Jewishness», he added.

The President urged to fight anti-Semitism, including when he is disguised as criticism of Israel.

«We need to have a very clear red line between us and those who represent hate, neo-Nazism and anti-Semitism. It is our duty… to fight all manifestations of racism and hatred,» he said.
