The Ministry of culture of the Belgian Flanders, with the support of city hall and the Museum of fine arts Ghent announced the creation of an expert Commission to establish the authenticity of the exhibited in the municipal gallery of works by Russian avant-garde, informed RIA Novosti the representative of the administration of Ghent lien Bracewell.

From October 2017 the Museum of fine arts is hosting an exhibit of paintings by Russian avant-garde from the collection of Belgian collector with Russian roots of Igor Toporovskaya and his wife Olga.

The exhibition presents about 30 paintings, which, according to the owner of the collection, belong to the brush of Malevich, Kandinsky, Rodchenko, Tatlin, Goncharova and other masters of the avant-garde, art movement that emerged at the turn of XIX and XX centuries.

Experts doubt

«Indeed, the decision on the establishment of an expert Commission made,» said Bracewell.

«The definition of what work needs to be exhibited in the Museum, is not within the competence of the government. All the rules are met

Museum of fine arts Ghent in the organization of the exhibition of paintings from the collection Toporovskaya has ensured strict compliance with all related requirements. As the owner of the paintings he gave them to show technical expertise is not required.

The Directorate of the Museum has received from the Fund Dieleghem belonging Toporovskaya, all pertinent background information about the history and authenticity of each of the selected for the exhibition of paintings. The Foundation also presented two certificates of technical examination of paintings of Kandinsky and Exter conducted in France.

The owner of the collection, as reported by RIA Novosti in the city of Ghent made no objection to the laboratory examination of the submitted paintings.

According to the newspaper Libre Belgique, Toporovskaya emigrated to Belgium with the collection in 2006. In the past he was part of the circle of advisers on international Affairs Mikhail Gorbachev and Boris Yeltsin, the newspaper notes.
