Directorate Directorate of the Northern sea route (NSR) will be placed in the center of Moscow on Bolshaya Polyanka in the building, where the offices of a number of enterprises of the state Corporation «Rosatom», follows from materials on the procurement website.

Earlier «Rosatom» has developed the bill granting a nuclear state Corporation authorized to exercise supervision and control of navigation on the Northern sea route. It is planned that the bill will significantly enhance the development of the NSR as a national transport route in the Arctic. The adoption of this document is expected in the current year.

In accordance with the document «Rosatom» can obtain the mandate to manage the passage of vessels in the waters of the Northern sea route, decisions about the opening of the NSR seaports and approval of lease of Federal property objects of these ports. It is also planned that Rosatom will approve rules of rendering of services and the list of port dues in the seaports located in the waters of the NSR.

In addition, the bill empowers the «Rosatom» powers on reception of applications and issuance of permits for the passage of vessels through the Northern sea route, monitoring hydrometeorological, ice and navigation situation, the coordination of the installation of navigational equipment, making recommendations on the development of routes of navigation and use of icebreakers to assist in the organization of search and rescue operations.

Now in Russia the Federal state institution «Administration of the Northern sea route», created in March 2013 for the implementation of the organization of the passage of vessels via the NSR. The main objectives of this institution are to ensure the safety of navigation and protection of the marine environment from pollution from ships in the waters of the SMP.
