Protests in different cities of Russia, even not agreed with local authorities, according to the presidential Council on human rights, passed off relatively peacefully, reported RIA Novosti the Chairman of the HRC Mikhail Fedotov.

Earlier the HRC on its website reported the number of participants of protest actions in Russian cities. The report notes that public monitoring of the event execute Executive Secretary of the HRC Yana Lantratova and several members of the Council. Also, the HRC receives data from other cities.

«It is too early to sum up, we can only talk about the intermediate results. They are as follows: in dozens of cities held public actions of protest character called Alexei Navalny. In some parts of the cities they were agreed, and everything went absolutely calm; in other places they were not agreed, but also passed relatively calmly,» Fedotov said on Sunday.

He noted that continuing with a similar action in St.-Petersburg and Moscow. «St. Petersburg we have the data yet. And the data that obtained directly from our observers, saying that the police are showing maximum restraint, and this can only be welcomed», — said the head of the HRC.

«I would like that the participants in these public events also showed restraint and respect for the law,» he added.

HRC once again calls on the organizers of public events and the authorities of the respective cities to find compromise solutions to public actions took place in unison, said Fedotov.

«Then everything will be easy: citizens to be calm, and law enforcement officers will ensure public order — will be the minimum number of violators, while freedom of expression is fully respected. So: more compromise and less provocations,» — concluded the Chairman of the HRC.
