The new German government should focus on diplomatic efforts to improve relations between Russia and the United States and the solution of the conflict in Ukraine, said Tuesday the head of the Eastern Committee of German economy Wolfgang Buchele.

«Now we need strong diplomatic offensive to improve Russian-American relations and the resolution of the Ukrainian conflict. This new Federal government should emphasize in its foreign policy, as required by the Prime Ministers of the East German Federal States» — are his words in the press release received by RIA Novosti.

The U.S. Treasury in the night of Tuesday published «the Kremlin list», which included almost the entire leadership of the Russian Federation and major Russian businessmen – more than 200 people. The list was prepared in accordance with the law «On combating the enemies of America through sanctions», which was adopted in the U.S. in the summer of 2017. It does not entail the automatic imposition of sanctions against these individuals, but implies that the restrictive measures against them from the United States can be introduced in the future.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has described the report as «an unfriendly act» that harms the relations between Russia and the United States as a whole. According to him, Moscow is not interested in having to cease relations with Washington will refrain from retaliatory steps after the publication of the list and will monitor the situation.
