Russian Senator Alexey Pushkov said that Russia does not make sense to meet Poland in the gas supply, having written about it on his Twitter page.

The President of Poland Andrzej Duda during a debate in Davos, said that Poland wants to have the same conditions of purchases of Russian gas, like Germany.

«Poland will play to the fact that Russia will cease to sell gas. Let him carry it at least from Africa. It makes no sense to go towards Warsaw,» wrote Pushkov.

Polish state oil and gas company PGNiG buys most of the gas from the Russian «Gazprom». Long-term gas supply contract with Gazprom expires in 2022. The Baltic States and Poland traditionally declare their dependence on Russian gas and the need for diversification. Warsaw believes the current contract is disadvantageous. From the Polish side often heard promises to completely abandon Russian gas after 2022. Recently energy Minister Krzysztof Kujawski stated that to negotiate a new gas contract with Russia is still too early.
