Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu received a gift from Russian President Vladimir Putin’s letter to the German industrialist Oskar Schindler, famous for his rescue of Jews during the Second world war. This was reported by RIA Novosti press-Secretary of the head of the Israeli government Anna Jonathan-Leus.

According to her, Netanyahu, came a one-day visit to Moscow, very touched by the gift and going to transfer it to Jerusalem, the memorial complex «Yad Vashem» — the world’s largest centre for the study of the history of the Holocaust and preserving the memory of its victims.

«After the meeting, President Putin gave Prime Minister Netanyahu a gift. This is the original letter from Oskar Schindler’s wife. The head of the government was very touched by this gift, which is timed to the International day of remembrance of the victims of the Holocaust», — said the Agency interlocutor.
