The DPRK acute lack of gasoline and diesel fuel, said in an interview with RIA Novosti, the Russian Ambassador to Pyongyang Alexander Matsegora.

According to him, this situation leads to serious problems, including humanitarian.

«According to the quotas established by the latest security Council resolution, the DPRK may come in the year about 540 thousand tons of crude oil by pipeline from China and a little more than 60 thousand tons of oil products from Russia, China and other countries. Sixty thousand tons of oil products per year for a country with a population of 25 million people is a drop, to decrease further nowhere», the diplomat noted.

Matsegora said that the termination of deliveries of oil products would mean a complete blockade, which Pyongyang will take it as a Declaration of war.

Sanctions against Pyongyang

In August last year, after another missile test from North Korea, the UN Security Council adopted resolution number 2371, extending the restrictive measures against the DPRK. Complete the implementation by a third would reduce the annual foreign exchange earnings in Pyongyang, components now about three billion dollars.

The resolution in particular calls for a ban on imports from the DPRK, iron, iron ore, lead, coal and seafood, the freezing of the accounts of the Bank for foreign trade of the country and limiting oil supplies.
