The United States hopes that the DPRK will not hold military parade on 8 February, the day before the start of the Olympic games in Pyeongchang, told reporters at the briefing, U.S. Deputy Secretary of state Steven Goldstein.

The ninth of February in South Korea’s Pyeongchang will start winter Olympic games, the competitions will be held until February 25.

«We would prefer that the parade is not held on 8 February. It is our hope,» he said.

The Agency Yonhap reported that North Korea moved this year’s celebration of the anniversary of the founding of the Korean people’s army (kPa) on February 8. Earlier, the Foundation day of the kPa celebrated in the country on April 25. Now on this day the DPRK will celebrate the establishment of the Korean people’s revolutionary army, which is considered the prototype of the kPa.
