The founder of the Soviet animated series about a cat Leopold multiplier Anatoly Reznikov will be buried in Germany, told RIA Novosti on the phone his daughter Ilona Reznikova.

«He will be buried in Germany, in Essen (in the Federal state of North Rhine-Westphalia)» she said, adding that the farewell will take place in the narrow family circle, as the artist «didn’t love no pomp».

Ilona Reznikova confirmed that the cause of death was cancer, the artist was undergoing treatment in Germany.

Earlier that Anatoly Reznikov died in Germany on 78-m to year of life, told RIA Novosti journalist and family friend Susanna alperina.

Soviet Director-animator Anatoly Reznikov graduated from the Tbilisi school of painting, and then began working at the Central documentary film Studio in Moscow. In the mid-1960s, he became interested in animation and started to learn the basics of hand drawn animation. His first paintings he created on the basis of the creative Association «Screen». Fame came to the Director with the release of a parody of the cartoon «Once a cowboy, two cowboy». It also is an author of paintings «Robinson Kuzya», «penny» and many others. Millions of Soviet and Russian viewers also loved a series about the adventures of Leopold, which was broadcast from 1981 to 1993. Reznikov resumed work on the animated film in 2015.
