MOSCOW, February 3 — RIA Novosti, Natalia Dembinski. Due to the development of systems of artificial intelligence mankind was on the threshold of the fourth industrial revolution. Robots are rapidly getting smarter, they effectively samebecause them big data and artificial neural networks. Robotics is already affecting the labor market, saving people from boring and primitive work, and at the same time and from the workplace. For the most gloomy forecasts, by 2020 the global labor market will lose seven million jobs. And after 20 years without a job will be about 35 percent of the population of the planet. However, current robots are very imperfect and clumsy creatures, and artificial brain at risk to fail at the most inopportune moment. About why robots in the streets and flying cars — just as a distant prospect, as half a century ago — in the material RIA Novosti.© AFP 2018Роботы Qrio dancing Argentine tango in Tokyo, Japan. Incompetent Joker Fabio

One of the first robots are expected to out of call centres and consultants. Indeed, in the call centers worldwide to support customers ‘ increasingly connected, the voice of robots, placing employees only deal with non-standard situations.

But when it comes to communicating with people in a real trading room, robots start to kink. The owners of a supermarket in Edinburgh, Scotland, was used as the sales assistant robot named Fabio. He was instructed to tell customers where to find certain products.

As an assistant, he was absolutely useless: for example, those who are looking for a certain kind of cheese, just sent to the dairy Department. Because of the buzz in the room robot poorly recognized speech, and let the inappropriate jokes.

Bewildered visitors avoided it, and a week later Fabio «fired» as incompetent.

Much better with its responsibilities manage warehouse robots. In the warehouses the largest online retailer Amazon worldwide, including more than 100 thousand robots-loaders. Watch them still people, but the effectiveness of joint work has increased five times.

A study by Deutsche Bank showed that the cycle of operation of the Robotics system Amazon spend 15 minutes. People it took 60-75 minutes. In addition, robotic storage systems has reduced operating costs of the Corporation by 20 percent.© AP Photo / Brandon BaileyРабота robot at the Amazon warehouse «Kill all humans»: as messy robots on the way to the rise of the machines© AP Photo / Brandon BaileyРабота robot at the Amazon warehouse

All in the mausoleum

Robotsrule warehouses, and Amazon took over the regular stores. Five years it took to make Amazon Go store with no cash registers and queues. The principle is this: a special mobile application makes an individual truck, and the output from the customer’s account is debited the value of purchases. But, apparently, until the revolution in supermarkets has not happened.

The day of the opening of the concept store Amazon Go in Seattle lined up a huge queue. And it’s not the only problem faced by the buyers. Go Amazon wanted to launch in early 2017, but failed technology: the system was unable to identify the visitors with the same set of products in trucks.© AP Photo / Elaine Tarouti stand in line, waiting to get to the supermarket without sellers and cashiers Go Amazon in Seattle, USA. 22 Jan 2018 «Kill all humans»: as messy robots on the way to the rise of the machines© AP Photo / Elaine Tarouti stand in line, waiting to get to the supermarket without sellers and cashiers Go Amazon in Seattle, USA. 22 Jan 2018

Robot patrol was drowned in the fountain

Obvious candidates for departure from the labour market — guards. Many enterprises are already working robots patrol, moving along the perimeter of the protected object.

But when we are not talking about the most geometrically simple territories, the iron patrol risks disorientates in space.

Last summer robot Knightscope K5 security guard trusted business complex in Washington. For some time all went well, but one day the robot went straight to the non-working fountain on site, fell in and drowned.

Twitter immediately dubbed the hapless Knightscope K5 «robot suicide», suggesting that he killed himself because he realized: «the future will not come now.» Needless to say, the steps of the fountain was a serious obstacle to the rise of the machines.

The drone demanded to sit behind the wheel

One of the key global trends in the next decades — unmanned vehicles. In their development are investing hundreds of millions of dollars and star Silicon valley airport taxi service Uber, and traditional automakers, such as Mercedes, Volvo and GM.

According to some estimates, unmanned vehicles will destroy up to four million jobs worldwide, transportation is one of the key areas of employment those who do not have special education. This will affect cargo transportation.

Most experts believe that the passenger transport without a driver — the question of the next 10-20 years. During this time the car will learn to operate in real conditions of road network, we will resolve all technical and legal issues.© AP Photo / Michael Probst, FileБеспилотный Tesla Model S «Kill all humans»: as messy robots on the way to the rise of the machines© AP Photo / Michael Probst, FileБеспилотный Tesla Model S

In the meantime, the UAVs to self-reliance is clearly not ready. At the end of January in Los Angeles the Tesla route with the autopilot engaged, crashed into a parked fire truck. Tesla Model S traveled at a speed of 105 kilometers per hour.

The company immediately recalled that the autopilot Tesla requires drivers to keep hands on the wheel. If the system senses that the hands are removed, the driver is warned about her trip. «Autopilot is intended for use only with an attentive driver,» — said the representative of the automaker.
LG robot scared people

A few days ago «robofil» experienced and one of the largest consumer electronics manufacturers LG, are investing significant funds in the development of technology with artificial intelligence.

The annual international consumer electronics show CES 2018 in Las Vegas, the company brought its main achievement — the household robot assistant CLOi, capable, for example, suggest what foods to eat in the fridge and how best to cook them.

However, once on stage, CLOi completely numb, probably from excitement. Vice President of marketing for LG’s David Vanderwall was never able to get him to perform voice commands — the robot ignored everything.

Sophia shocked by the corruption

The setback suffered and Sophia — robot a Hong Kong company, recognized as the most advanced Android in the world.

Sofia is able to discuss and analyse a wide range of topics and has admitted that they are ready to destroy humanity. She was invited to the world economic forum in Davos. The journalist of the Ukrainian TV channel asked her how to fight corruption in Ukraine and around the world. Sofia much thought, ceased to answer, and even respond to anything.

Later explained that the failure was related to the fact that Sofia was programmed to mode of interview session with prepared questions. However, the issue of corruption, there did not appear, and the robot fell into a stupor.

Unemployed the future is not far off

Anyway, the robots will soon take over all the routine work — cooking, manufacturing, trade and accounting, the authors of the book «the Second era of machines,» researchers at the Massachusetts Institute of technology, Brynjolfsson and McAfee.

Skeptics, however, believe that these horror stories have little in common with reality. First, as indicated by economists: although automation needs to improve productivity, the opposite occurs. In the US, for example, over the past 10 years productivity grew on average by 1.2 percent per year — the lowest figures since the Second world war.

That no signs of emerging robopocalypse is not observed, confirmed by the results of recent large-scale studies of the labor market.

Analyzing the impact of robots on manufacturing industry, agriculture and the utilities sector in 17 countries, experts have established that robots are actually increased the efficiency of low-skilled labor, but the overall performance is not affected. And in the end everything turned just in wage growth.

Of course, robotics will greatly change the world, but people without work will not remain. And the impact of artificial intelligence on the economy is much thinner than assumed in the numerous predictions of the end of the world.
