The Rosselkhoznadzor again found African swine fever (ASF) in the territory of the Saratov region, the Ministry reported on Friday.

This time the virus is detected on 8 February from corpses of pigs, discovered on a dump near the village of Dergachi Dergachi municipal district.

«Currently, the complex of measures in accordance with the «veterinary regulations for the implementation of preventive, diagnostic, restrictive and other events, establishment and abolition of quarantine and other restrictions aimed at preventing the spread and eradication of African swine fever», — stated in the message.

Previously, the Agency has recorded the virus in this region. So on January 31, the ASF outbreaks found in the results of the study of pathological material selected from dead pigs discovered in the natural area near the village of Malyy Perelaz.

African swine fever — a contagious viral disease of pigs that are particularly dangerous. For man, the ASF is not dangerous, but causes serious damage to the agricultural sector, as it does not give in to treatment and vaccinal prevention among animals. To stop the spread of the disease can only strict quarantine measures.
