Foreign Minister Didier Reynders expressed hope for progress in resolving the conflict in Eastern Ukraine in the coming months, particularly in the implementation of the Minsk agreements.

«We had discussed the situation in Ukraine. I reiterated our position, which is unified in the framework of the European Union: we want to preserve the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine. We also want to see the progress in the implementation of the Minsk agreements. I hope that in the coming weeks or the coming months we will witness a new phase that will ensure the preservation of the ceasefire regime, but also the reforms that need to be adopted by Ukraine on the entire territory», — he said at a press conference after talks with Russian foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.

Reynders said that he sees «positive developments» in the process of Ukrainian settlement, and also thanked Lavrov for his comments which he gave on the situation in Ukraine to understand how to achieve progress in this area.
