Russia and China will attempt the militarization of space, despite the formal appeals not to place weapons, the Director of national intelligence Daniel Coates.

The militarization of outer space is prohibited by the international space Treaty (1967).

«Russia and China continue to publicly and diplomatically to promote an international agreement on the prevention of placement of weapons in outer space and of «no first placement» of weapons in outer space. However, many types of weapons will not be considered under such proposals, which will allow them (Russia and China) to continue its efforts to build capacity for the conduct of space war in public maintaining that the space should be a peaceful region,» the report says Coates, is published on the website of the intelligence Committee of the U.S. Senate.

On Tuesday, the Minister stands in this Committee together with the heads of other U.S. intelligence on global threats.
