Patients with a number of rare diseases from the program «Seven nosologies» are provided with drugs produced in Russia, said the representative of the Association of pharmaceutical manufacturers of the EEU Dmitry Kudlay.

«This year, over clinical studies of drugs for the treatment of cystic fibrosis and Gaucher disease. Thus, patients with orphan diseases from the program «Seven nosologies» will provide Russian drugs within the framework of the initiatives which have sounded in the state program «Pharma 2020», — cited the press service of the Association of the word Kudlaya at a press conference dedicated to the International day against rare diseases.

Currently in Russia, patients with rare diseases are provided with medications from two sources. The first of them — the Federal program for seven high-cost nosologies (pituitary dwarfism, hemophilia, cystic fibrosis, Gaucher disease), financed from the Federal budget. Second — regional — 24 nosology, financed from the regional budgets on the basis of RF government decree N403, dated 26 April 2012.

According to Kudlaya, 24 of these orphan diseases, «drugs for 18 already in development, 12 of which are at varying stages of clinical research.»

He noted in this regard the efforts of the Ministry of industry and trade of the Russian Federation on realization of the state program of support to the pharmaceutical and medical industries, «Pharma 2020», «what allows you today to discuss the «farm 2030». Kudlay added that today Russia is one of the countries that are intensively involved in orphan diseases, along with the United States, Ireland, Switzerland and Korea.

According to Ministry of health of the Russian Federation, in the Federal register of persons suffering from rare diseases, are currently 17226 people, including 8762 child.
