Relations between Russia and Austria are built on the principles of equality and mutual respect of interests, said Russian President Vladimir Putin.

«Stated that the relations between Russia and Austria have traditionally been built on the principles of equality and respect of interests each other, are truly mutually beneficial», — said Putin after talks with the Chancellor of Austria Sebastian Kurtz.

According to the Russian leader, the talks were held in a businesslike and constructive atmosphere.

«We exchanged opinions on all complex of questions of bilateral cooperation and topical issues of international and regional agenda, outlined specific plans for the future in political, trade-economic and humanitarian spheres», — said Putin.

He noted that the trade turnover between the countries increased by more than 40%, Russian investments in the Austrian economy to grow and reached almost 23 billion dollars, and the Austrian in the Russian economy are approaching five billion dollars.
