Russia will appeal against a ban by the world anti-doping Agency (WADA) to carry out in Russia the international sports competitions, said RIA Novosti on Wednesday the head of the Federation Council Committee on social policy Valery Ryazansky.

On Tuesday, the Manager of WADA’s public relations Maggie Durand confirmed to RIA Novosti that Russia from April 1 to may not be able to submit applications to host on its territory an international sports event, if the Russian anti-doping Agency (RUSADA) by that time will not be reinstated. It follows from the amended articles of the WADA code.

«We have and will continue (to protest),» said Ryazan, adding that the decision of WADA is «jeopardizing the development of sport, and therefore the health of our youth.»
